The Rite Haunts Box Office

American horror movie based on true event 'The Rite' is the TOP BOX OFFICE this week with $15 million gross. The movie starring Anthony Hopkins as Father Lucas and directed by Mikael Håfström. The Rite was produced by Beau Flynn and Tripp Vinson, the men behind 'The Exorcism of Emily Rose'.

Bruno Mars Attacks Britney on Billboard!

Bruno Mars' "Grenade" returns to #1 on the Hot 100. It dethrones Britney Spears' "Hold It Against Me," which debuted at #1 last week. This is the third appearance at #1 for "Grenade" in the past five weeks. After blasting onto the chart at #1 last week, Spears' "Hold It Against Me" drops to #6. That seems strange, but it's not unusual.  The last seven songs to debut at #1 spent just that one frame in the lead position. "Hold It Against Me" follows Ke$ha's "We R Who We R," Eminem's "Not Afraid," Spears' "3," and the American Idol cluster of Taylor Hicks' "Do I Make You Proud," Carrie Underwood's "Inside Your Heaven" and Fantasia's "I Believe."

83rd Academy Awards Nominations!!!

After glamorous Golden Globe big celebration that made 17 millions viewers, now it's time for The 83rd Academy Awards or Oscar 2011, honoring the best film ever in 2010 and it's presented by the AmericanAcademy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences (AMPAS). The show will take place on February 27, 2011, at the Kodak Theatre in Hollywood, California. James Franco and Anne Hathaway will be co-hosting the ceremony. The King's Speech grabbed 12 nods then followed by True Gift with 10 and Inception & The Social Network each 8 nominations. UFO Crop Circle in Sleman

Dekan Fakutas Matematika dan IPA Universitas Gajah Mada (UGM) Chairil Anwar mengaku sudah melakukan pengecekan terhadap anak didiknya yang diduga membuat lingkaran berpola atau crop circle di Sleman, Yogyakarta.

Namun hingga saat ini pihaknya mengaku belum mengetahui siapa pelakunya.

“Belum bisa dipastikan sekarang, belum diketahui, saya sudah menanyakan ke lembaga siapa yang kemungkinan melakukan hal tersebut?”ucapnya saat berbincang dengan okezone, Rabu (26/1/2011).

Dia menambahkan bahwa ada kesulitan untuk mengkroscek apakah benar anak didiknya yang melakukan hal tersebut, sebab kondisi kampus saat ini memang tengah libur.

“Nanti saat masuk saya akan menanyakan kepada seluruh Fakultas Matematika, karena sekarang masih samar-samar dan belum ada nama pastinya,” tukasnya.

Sebelumnya seperti yang dikutip dalam Studentmagz, crop circle di Sleman, Yogyakarta, yang membuat heboh masyarakat Indonesia diduga dilakukan mahasiswa dari Fakultas Matematika. Pembuatan ini dilakukan untuk menerapkan ilmu matematika yang didapatkannya.

No Strings Attached on TOP!

Ashton Kutcher and Natalie Portman star as friends who try to maintain a purely sexual relationship with each other, even as they find they're falling in love. The strong supporting cast includes Greta Gerwig, Mindy Kaling, Lake Bell and Kevin Kline.

Last week's No. 1 movie, Columbia Pictures' action comedy "The Green Hornet," dropped to second place with $18.1 million. It has now made $63.4 million total. Seth Rogen stars as the title playboy-turned-superhero, based on the 1930s radio show, with Taiwanese pop star Jay Chou as his sidekick, Kato.

Much of the success of "No Strings Attached" could be attributed to the pairing of director Ivan Reitman and Montecito Pictures, which brought the movie in at a budget of just $25 million, said Don Harris, Paramount's executive vice president of distribution.

He thought audiences were drawn to the chemistry between the co-stars: "Natalie Portman couldn't be any hotter, and I think this is the kind of movie Ashton Kutcher had hoped to make and be in during his career. They go well together."

Portman just won a Golden Globe award for her portrayal of a ballerina gone mad in "Black Swan," the weekend's sixth-highest grossing film, and for which she's likely to receive an Academy Award nomination Tuesday. She recently announced she's expecting a baby with her fiance, Benjamin Millepied, who choreographed "Black Swan" and has a cameo in it.
