MTV Europe Music Awards 2011 Winner!
The MTV Europe Music Awards turned into a celebration of Justin Bieber and Lady Gaga Sunday night as the two picked up a number of top prizes, including best male and best female act. Gaga, striking in several outfits throughout the evening, also won for best song and best video for "Born This Way." Bieber picked up best pop act as well.

Their live performances captured the differences between the two ascendant mega-stars: the teenage Bieber, wholesome and almost impossibly cute; Gaga challenging and aggressively sexual in her approach. Other awards went to Bruno Mars, Eminem and Katy Perry while the band Queen received the "Global Icon" award, in effect a lifetime achievement award to the now-graying rockers, who closed the show with a spirited set of their classics, including "We Will Rock You" and "We Are the Champions."

It was a rousing end to the awards show, a highlight on the European music calendar that also draws A-list stars from the United States. It was held in Belfast, Northern Ireland, for the first time.

Unpredictable, Puss in Boots easily claimed first place for the second straight weekend. Openers Tower Heist and A Very Harold & Kumar 3D Christmas both came in on the low end of expectations, though neither was an outright disappointment. Overall box office was down at least 20 percent from the same frame last year, when Megamind and Due Date opened to $46 million and $32.7 million, respectively. Puss in Boots eased just three percent to $33.04 million in its second frame. That's the smallest non-Holiday drop ever for a saturated release (2,500+ theaters), and also smallest for a very wide release (2,000+ theaters) since My Dog Skip gained 3 percent in its second wide weekend in 2000.

Yasss, RiRi on top again! Rihanna ft. Calvin Harris "We Found Love" jumps from #2 to #1 in its sixth week on the Hot 100. It's Rihanna's 11th #1, a total matched by only three other female solo artists in the chart's 53-year history. Mariah Carey leads among female solo artists with 18 #1 hits, followed by Madonna with 12 and Whitney Houston, also with 11. Rihanna this week pulls ahead of Janet Jackson, who has had 10.

Rihanna notched her first #1 hit, "SOS," in May 2006. These other women have had far longer to amass these hits. Madonna, Houston, Jackson and Carey all landed their first #1 hits between 1984 and 1990.
"We Found Love" took just six weeks to top the Hot 100. It's the fast-rising #1 by any artist since Lady Gaga's "Born This Way" debuted at #1 in February. The song also tops the 1 million mark in digital sales this week.

Rihanna is featured on two other songs in this week's top 30: Coldplay's "Princess Of China," which debuts at #20, and Nicki Minaj's "Fly," which jumps from #28 to #22 in its 10th week.
